OVERVIEW
Launched in 2014, the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) is the province’s first standards-based, youth high-performance league, combining top-level competition with rigorous training standards. As a cornerstone of Ontario Soccer’s Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) framework, the OPDL plays a vital role in advancing youth soccer across the province and Canada.
For the 2026 season, Toronto High Park FC is fielding ten OPDL teams.
The teams are as follows:
- Boys Teams: 2009 B, 2010 B, 2011 B, 2012 B, 2013 B
- Girls Teams: 2009 G, 2010 G, 2011 G, 2012 G, 2013 G
registration
At THPFC, we operate a one-year registration model, which means that when players are registered, their spot in the competitive program is secured for the entire year, from the start of the season until its conclusion.
THPFC however does retain the right, in exceptional circumstances, to discuss a player’s position within the program, should this level of competition be negatively affecting their individual development and enjoyment of the game. In this scenario a conversation with the players parents/guardians and the player will be facilitated to ensure an agreed outcome with the players best interests at the heart of the decision.
Our yearly registration model begins in the winter (indoor) season and continues into the summer (outdoor). We offer three types of registration:
- Training & Games (Winter & Summer)
- Training (Winter) & Training & Games (Summer)
- Training Only (Year-Round)
This approach allows for stability and consistency within the team structure, ensuring that players are committed to their teams for a full season. As a result, once team placements are finalized, players will remain on the same team throughout the year without the need for mid-year tryouts or adjustments. This helps our coaches plan and develop their teams effectively, fostering a cohesive environment for growth and development.

Development Player Pathway
The Developmental Player (DP) pathway provides an opportunity for players who demonstrate high potential for future OPDL participation but are not yet ready to fully commit to its demands. Click here for an overview of the process and key details regarding DP status.
