About Youth Indoor House League 2017-2018

THPFC’s Youth Indoor House League is aimed at recreational players, and is a fun and inexpensive way for kids to stay active and maintain their soccer skills over the winter.

Volunteers needed!

Youth Indoor House League is run entirely by volunteers.  We need your help!  We need coaches for every team and convenors for every division. No special soccer skills are required to be a coach.  Convenors help organize a division and make sure it runs smoothly.

Please save other Club volunteers from having to contact all the players’ parents looking for coaches and convenors.  You know you want to!  Please say so during the online registration process!

Early November to about March break, approximately 15 sessions.

(All Youth Indoor House League games are played in local gyms, some of which may be unavailable on certain dates due to holidays or school functions.  Some divisions may wrap up as early as late February while other may run as late as the end of March.)

Session times and formats

Sessions begin at either 6:00pm or 7:00pm (varies from week to week) and run for one hour.

·         U06: Sessions consist of a half-hour practice followed by a half-hour game. Scores and standings are not kept. Club technical staff run these sessions and provide some skills training before the game play

·         U08-U12: Sessions consist of a 15 minute warm up and a game with two 20-minute halves and a 5 minute half-time. Scores and standings are not kept and there are no “playoffs”.

·         U15-U16: Sessions consist of a 15 minute warm up and a game with two 20-minute halves and a 5 minute half-time. Scores and standings are kept and the last few weeks of the season consist of a Cup tournament with a Cup Champion determined.

Please arrive by start time 6:00pm or 7:00pm to help with setup and to allow time for warm up and pre-game organization before game kick off at 6:15pm or 7:15pm.

In the event that a division does not have enough players to form a full division with at least four teams, then that division will use a “pickup” format: two teams are formed each week, with the players being mixed up from week to week.

Uniforms and equipment

Each player will receive a uniform (jersey, shorts and socks). Shin pads are required but not supplied. Indoor soccer shoes are recommended, but a good running shoe with a non-marking sole will do.

All players will receive a commemorative medal.  Official team or individual photos are not taken.

The Indoor House League uses a simplified version of FIFA Futsal rules.
